Introduction
As we entered 2017, the University of Florida (UF) had lined up an exciting calendar of events and festivals. Having just graduated from UF, I was excited to attend some of these events and explore Gainesville one more time before starting my professional career.

Gator Growl is the largest student-run pep rally in the world. The event features musical performances, comedy skits, and a fireworks show. It is a tradition that dates back to 1932 and is a highlight of the Homecoming week festivities.
Homecoming
Homecoming is a week-long celebration where UF alumni return to campus to reconnect with old friends and attend various events. The week includes a parade, pep rally, and the Homecoming football game. As a recent graduate, I did not attend Homecoming, but I have many fond memories of the week from my time at UF.
Graduation
Graduation is the culmination of a student’s time at UF. The ceremony includes speeches from university officials and keynote speakers, as well as the awarding of degrees. It is a bittersweet moment for students as they say goodbye to their friends and the university that has become their home for the past few years.
